Let's talk about tankless water heaters. The U.S. is one of the only countries in the world that use tank water heaters. Tankless water heaters are more efficient, take far less room, and in the long run they will save you money. With no tank to decay and leak, they last longer than the tanks manufactured today.
Things you should know before switching to a tankless water heater:
You MUST have a water softener to use a tankless water heater. In most cases, they are not stocked in stores for you to purchase. They must be ordered, which takes about 2 weeks. So if your water heater is not working or is leaking on the floor, that's NOT the time to consider converting to a tankless water heater. The time to consider going tankless is now. Tankless water heaters require a special flew pipe. That's the vent that takes the exhaust gases out of your home. They cannot be installed using existing flew pipe or conventional piping. As always, do your research on tankless water heaters BEFORE you purchase one.
Don't just run to the nearest box store.
